Michael Connelly – The Concrete Blonde
If you asked me about this book up in person, I would probably say that it’s “another typical Harry Bosch novel.” And it most certainly is. When it comes to Harry Bosch novels, I always get dragged in the story and I can never put my book down until the last page.
It’s like that with Michael Connelly novels. He loves to suck you in, and in the end you are always surprised with a huge twist. Sometimes you don’t even see it coming. I started reading Harry Bosch novels awhile ago. My mom is also a huge book junkie, and she was the one that told me I had to read a Michael Connelly book. After the first novel I read I couldn’t stop. I was totally addicted. Nowadays I can’t see myself reading anything else (Well I still do have my other favorite authors.)
A couple of years ago I heard that there were only going to be a couple more novels to the Harry Bosch series. I hope that never happens, but you can never know. Harry is and always will be my favorite detective.
Okay so about this book. The Concrete Blonde is the return of the Dollmaker, that we know that Harry killed. So here’s a little summary from the book. (What written on the back cover.)
The Concrete Blonde
They called him the Dollmaker, a serial killer who stalks Los Angeles and leaves a grisly calling card on the faces of his female victims. When a suspect is shot by Detective Harry Bosch, everyone believes the city’s nightmare is over. But then the dead man’s widow sues Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man – an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new corpse is found with the Dollmaker’s macabre signature. Now, for the second time, Harry must hunt down a ruthless death-dealer before he strikes again. Careening through a blood tracked quest, Harry will go from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go – the darkness of his own heart…
It is a great book for those people who love getting suck into a story. I can tell you form experience you will be thinking about the book until you’ve figured out who the killer is. Michael Connelly is a great story teller, sometimes you feel you’re part of the story. I wish I could write like him.
So this book is a definite must have for the summer. If you have some free time this is what you should do with it. Read the book.
Pic of the day.
